Halloween 2010

Happy Halloween!   

We are alive and, yes, I am actually posting!  Miracles do happen!

and hopefully a whole season doesn't pass before I post again!

Here I am...I was a spider!  We had a fun ward party on friday night and then got to go indoor trunk-or-treating due to some rain that hit us.  But we had a great time anyway!  I love dressing up and having fun!  I am just glad that Kallie laughed when she saw me...I would feel so bad if I made her cry!

We started our festivities thursday night with some fun pumpkin carving and painting.  Kallie and I  painted and Bryan carved.  Carving was out for me this year cause my shoulder is still on the mend and it would have been tough to do it with my left hand!

 Tonight we went to Bry's sil's trunk-or-treat...indoors...cause it was pouring.  I'll tell ya, it was every trick or treaters dream in there!  All they had to do was walk around the room and they got a bag full of candy...there were a few who walked around the room several times :) But we had a great time and didn't freeze!

There was a gorilla there, mask and all.  It TERRIFIED Kallie to tears.  She wouldn't go near it!  This is her waiting with Daddy while he went by so she could continue her way around the gym to "trick-or-treat"
Terrified...my poor child was terrified! 
I hated seeing her so scared of something.  It hurt my heart! He felt so bad too. He, it was young adult, immediately took of his mask and showed her that he was just a person dressed up.  Kallie understands the difference between real and pretend, but Bry had to have the "He is just pretend" talk with her.  Pointing out that we are ALL dressed up and it is just for fun.

Me and my girl!  Love her!  I had to tickle her to get her to smile for the picture!  She is so funny!  She will only smile for pictures when she wants to.

Even Duke puppers got a costume!  I made him this Jack-o-lantern coat for him to wear.  He was supposed to go with us trick-or-treating, but when we took things inside, we left him in the car.  But he still looked cute...and was warm too.

The cute puppy on he side is my sisters dog.  We are puppy sitting while they are away.  Her name is Cider and compared to our hyper spaz of a dog, she is so mello!!! It is a little refreshing. Don't get me wrong, we love Duke...but he is sooo busy and some days, a KSL listing of a dog for sale is something that crosses my mind!

We made it through a Halloween that Kallie will probably remember next time around.  She seemed to have a great time and I am sure she is asleep right now dreaming about candy!  That is all she has talked about for two days!  Treats and candy.  And she is finding every opportunity to do something good that is deserving of a treat.  ie: eating all her dinner all gone, going to sleep with out crying, sometimes she will throw in the occasional "I am being a good girl, do I get a treat?"  Oh boy....

oh, and I am pretty sure I gained 5-10 lbs in the last week.  I am really glad that most of our halloween candy is now in someone else's home!  I am a sucker for chocolate! And my will power needs a serious make over!

The holidays are becoming more and more fun with a little one that can understand what is going on.  The more you get into it, the more they do!  I love it!  We learned the letter H this week, for Halloween.  She even knows that it makes the "hu" sound.  We also did some really cute crafts centered around halloween.  I am excited to get things together for her for to do in the coming winter months!  I just love her!  She is such a sponge right now and it is so fun!  Although, I need to pay a little more attention to the things that I say...
