Just an FYI...
While I am doing some catch up I am post dating the posts to the date they occurred...so there may be a few that are farther back than you think, that you might have missed. I have to do it this way so I keep the events in order. Thanks!

Camping

Finally...we went camping...and I am posting about it :)
We went back in August. We had a great time! It was so beautiful. We only stayed Friday night through Sunday morning but we had fun! The weather was perfect (till Sunday morning when we got rained out). It was great during the day, but quite chilly at night. Thank goodness for warm clothes and a fire! It was the first time in probably about 10 years that I have been camping and the first time since being married. We got to use the tent we got for a wedding present (for the first time). We cured out dutch oven before we left (if you haven't done that before...wow, it is not fun.)

We went to Pole Creek in the Uintah Mountains. We had never been to this side of the Uintahs before.

Luckily Kallie's snow suit from last year still fit. We needed it. Her winter coat still fit too. She decided that as it started to warm up she should be in charge of undressing. But she couldn't get her snow suit over her snow boots. (and I was too busy taking pictures of her to help)

This is Kallie and her cousin Tessa. They are only a few months apart and were having a great time playing in the dirt and sharing rocks and sticks.

Saturday morning. Breakfast done, and getting ready for the days adventures.

The camp site was gorgeous. We had deer coming through our camp site all night long. They would come right up to our site, with us there! It was nuts! They were all over.

This is Abby, our fashonista. She was wearing boots with that outfit (even though it was too warm for them...she knew it looked cute, so she wore them.) She is lots-o-fun! Just look at that sweet face and that gorgeous red hair!

Hams! They are both hams! I love this man and this baby!!! They are my world!

Chillaxin in the hammock! What you can't see is that if you aren't careful getting in the hammock, it just might slide right down the trunk of the tree. But if you were careful you could catch the bark so it would bear your weight :)
The great life!

This is our new hiking pack. What do you think...does she like it?
ummm. she L.O.V.E.S it!

The lake was a short hike away. We saw moose tracks. We had fun running around, enjoyed snacks and exploring.

Bro-in-law James telling Abby about the Lake and showing her some stuff.

Tessa and James

Summer, James, Abby and Tessa. Thanks for coming with us guys! It was so much fun!

Did I mention that it was gorgeous! It was absolutely beautiful!

Snack time :)

The boys went on a hike and took some great pictures of the area while us and the girls were "supposed" to be napping, although we know that didn't happen. I am glad they got to go do their boy stuff too!

Kallie wouldn't nap that day. It was too light and too exciting to take a nap so around 5:30pm she zonked out. No dinner, nothin', OUT she went!

Foil dinners...YUM. With fresh zucchini and yellow squash from Summer's garden. I made my first dutch oven pineapple upside down cake (with final baking help from the family baker aka:Bryan) and it was very yummy!

Sunday night and morning brought a lot of rain so we left early. Sleeping was tough with the rain and the deer but we still had such a great time! Next time we will have to plan for a longer trip. A day and a half is just not enough.

What I didn't tell you was that I forgot the bacon for Saturday breakfast, and all but one of Kallie's pants and shorts. Yep, sure did. Good thing we were headed to Summer's first and we were able to burrow some from her!

The other funny story attached to this is getting out the door. So on Friday I got the rest of the stuff together to go camping and packed it all while Kallie was napping. I was doing so well and was right on time, until.....A CAT GOT IN MY HOUSE!!!! I had left the garage door open for some light (cause I had closed everything up) while I went and woke up Kallie to go, and I am in Kallie's room and hear a cat meow at my feet. I got the cat out, it must be a neighbors cat cause it knew exactly where it wanted to go. After getting it out of the house twice, enticing it with Tuna, that it wasn't really interested in, and then getting it out of the garage so that I could close it and go about 20-30 minutes had gone by and I was no longer on time. Then it sat in front of my neighbors house, right at his door. He was afraid to open his door to go in cause he didn't want it in his house.

All in all, it was a great trip! We ended up having breakfast/lunch at Summer's Sunday morning, since we were rained out, and went home.
