Just an FYI...
While I am doing some catch up I am post dating the posts to the date they occurred...so there may be a few that are farther back than you think, that you might have missed. I have to do it this way so I keep the events in order. Thanks!

the goings on...

We have been a bit absent from life and many things around us as of late. Sorry if you are the recipient of the neglect. We have been spending a lot of time with the Larson/McCracken family these past few weeks. We had two deaths in the family, one expected, one unexpected and very unfortunate. We also had gobs of family in town which was wonderful, and a couple of birthdays to celebrate.

Bryan's grandfather passed away August 26th and the funeral was held on the following Monday, August 31st. He was the man that taught Bryan to be a man. Bry's family lived with his grandparents for ten years and he taught them many things. He was an amazing example and left a legacy that will be continued!

Donald Anderson Larson 1930 ~ 2009 Died August 26, 2009 in his home in Layton, Utah.He was born January 6, 1930 in Moroni, Utah to Verno Ellis Larson and Rachel Anderson Larson. He married Janet Baumgart on June 28, 1950 in Clearfield, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple December 6, 1950 prior to Don's LDS mission to Southern California.

After Don's retirement from Civilian Personel work with the Air Force, he and Janet served two more missions. They served in Michigan and later in Houston.

Don and Janet lived many places including: Thailand, Ohio, California, Phillipines, and Utah. Don was a faithful husband, a beloved father, and adored grandfather of 30 and great-grandfather of 27. He is survived by his wife, Janet, children, James and Marsha Larson, Ethel, WA; Cynthia McCracken, Clinton, UT; Sheryl and Tim Lewis, Cedar City, UT; Edith and Ron Neilson, Cordova, AK; Connie and Mike Siedl, Post Falls, ID; and Tomm and Jean Marie Larson, San Antonio, TX. He is preceded in death by his son, Kimball Larson; brother, John Larson; sisters, Anita Timothy and Nancy Copsedis.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heather Glen Ward Chapel, 2025 East 2000 North, Layton, Utah. Family and friends may gather Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary of Layton, 250 North Fairfield Road, and Monday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be at Clearfield City Cemetery, 140 East Center, Clearfield, UT. Condolences may be sent to www.myers-mortuary.com

:::::::::::

That following Wednesday we found out about the other passing of a little one before she was even able to make it all the way here. I am so grateful for the understanding that I have of the gospel and what goes on in the life after this earthly one. What we do know is that she was there to greet Grandpa and he will get the pleasure of getting to know her before the rest of us do. She is in good hands. Knowing and understanding the gospel of Jesus Christ helps bring closure and peace in situations like this. For that, I am so grateful! I do not know how I could deal without this knowledge.

We are emotionally and physically exhausted from all the gatherings, late nights up talking, having fun and have a lot of recovering to do on both ends. We were so worn down that we now have colds :( and are working on over coming those too. We have a wedding coming up for Bry's younger sister and are busy helping in whatever way we can with those preparations.

We are loving this Fall weather but I am not quite ready fro the summer to be over. More than anything, I just don't want to have another LONG winter. If it stayed Fall for a while, I could definitely deal!

Well there you have it. I will try to catch up on the pictures from this past week and our camping trip from the weekend before that.
